Skaite Mug 08 that got too friendly with the kiln shelves

60,00

Marbled porcelain mug / 250-260 mL

This mug fused with the kiln shelves, taking part of the shelf with it and leaving traces of porcelain behind. I removed the excess kiln, and now it’s ready to move on — a record of the material having its say.

Slip cast in fine porcelain. The marbling is created by blending pigmented liquid porcelain clay directly in the mold, rather than applying a glaze on top. Because the flow of the material itself forms the pattern, every cup is unique. It is then covered with a food-safe shiny glaze.

Sizes are approximate and vary due to the nature of the process and material.
